# Transforms API - 8.0 and future releases

Can anyone confirm whether the Transforms API will still be available in 8.0 and future releases, and whether it will still be part of X-Pack or a regular feature?

Transform is GA since `7.7`, with GA we provide _full_ support coverage and _stable_ API's. The feature will therefore _stay_. Right now transform is basic licensed, that means it is free to use _without_ any charge (basic is free to use, but not OSS).
