# "transport.tcp.compress: true" on some nodes only

In a cluster, does it make sense to set `transport.tcp.compress: true` on some nodes only?

Is this an acceptable setting (i.e. traffic is going to be compressed only between those nodes which both have this option enabled), or it is a mistake and should be avoided?
