# Troubles running Logstash on RHEL

It used to work fine, but recently it has been giving me this. Please help. Thank you.

In Your command specify the filter/conf file . You ae just specified the directory name

Like this  
`/opt/logstash/bin/logstash -f /etc/logstash/conf.d/your_sample_filterfile.conf`

Run this command with root privilege's

And Also try to setup -\> `LS_HOME and LS_SETTINGS_DIR`

From terminal try this command to set LS\_HOME and LS\_SETTINGS\_DIR

````auto
export LS_SETTINGS_DIR=/etc/logstash/
export PATH=$PATH:$LS_HOME/bin
export PATH```
````
