Hello,
I am new to Elastic. I am trying to build my home lab at my Windows laptop.
I am using Elastic and Kibana at Windows. I want to upload shakespeare\_6.0.json with the following command from the documentation says.
[https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/kibana/6.1/tutorial-load-dataset.html](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/kibana/6.1/tutorial-load-dataset.html)

But I got the following message as below.
Could you please advise me what I am doing wrong in here?

curl\_7\_53\_1\_openssl\_nghttp2\_x64\>curl -H 'Content-Type: application/x-ndjson' -XPOST -u elastic 'localhost:9200/shakespeare/doc/\_bulk?pretty' --data-binary @shakespeare\_6.0.json
Enter host password for user 'elastic':
**curl: (52) Empty reply from server**
**curl: (6) Could not resolve host: 'localhost**

I have checked this from chome browser as below.

[http://localhost:9200/](http://localhost:9200/)
{
"name" : "CND7083L5YZBOOK",
"cluster\_name" : "elasticsearch",
"cluster\_uuid" : "-a31QYZmRPuYMxXJNND5TA",
"version" : {

"build\_hash" : "5b1fea5",
"build\_date" : "2018-01-10T02:35:59.208Z",
"build\_snapshot" : false,
"lucene\_version" : "7.1.0",

"minimum\_index\_compatibility\_version" : "5.0.0"
},

Hi,

Have you installed x-pack in your local? If you did so - did you set your password for elastic?
[https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/x-pack/current/installing-xpack.html](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/x-pack/current/installing-xpack.html)

Step 7 is what you need here: [https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/6.1/installing-xpack-es.html](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/6.1/installing-xpack-es.html)

Once you have done it - you can supply that password while ingesting shakespeare:

```auto
 curl -H 'Content-Type: application/x-ndjson' -XPOST -u elastic:<password> 'localhost:9200/shakespeare/doc/_bulk?pretty' --data-binary @shakespeare_6.0.json
```

Let me know if it doesn't help you.

Cheers,
Bhavya
