We have Kibana 6.3.1

I want to export an existing Dashboard from this instance of Kibana so I can import it into another environment. Here is my export URL:
[https://kibana.sideA.com/api/kibana/dashboards/export?dashboard=678d3d10-fe48-11e8-b9f4-6d81a2f86892](https://kibana.sideA.com/api/kibana/dashboards/export?dashboard=678d3d10-fe48-11e8-b9f4-6d81a2f86892)

When I issue that from the browser, the system creates a json file with the following:
{
"version": "6.3.1",
"objects": [
{
"id": "678d3d10-fe48-11e8-b9f4-6d81a2f86892",
"type": "dashboard",
"error": {
"statusCode": 404,
"message": "Not found"
}
}
]
}

Not sure why it's not finding it when I use the Kibana tool itself, it produces this proper JSON:
[
{
"\_id": "678d3d10-fe48-11e8-b9f4-6d81a2f86892",
"\_type": "dashboard",

Hey @Jacko-ski,

Are you running Kibana with or without security? If you're running with, then what roles does the user have in each case? Is it possible the user is either unauthenticated, or under privileged?

I have administrator rights. I'm able to run Dev Tools to get information about mappings, indices, etc. Also, using that same ID/password I can export it from Kibana \> Management \> Saved Objects, with no problems. Notice also that the error I get is Not Found, not Not Authorized...

Should I be adding my userid:password to the URL when I run that command from the browser search box?

That shouldn't be necessary since you're already logged in to Kibana.

I'm having a hard time reproducing this error. I'm going to try a few more scenarios and report back, but it likely won't be until tomorrow morning (Eastern standard time)

Hi Larry - found out that this client has some custom Auth agent running on their machines, which probably effects this functionality. For that reason, we should probably conclude this topic.
