Hi, I am experiencing same issue as decribed here:

> [@Visulaization error](https://discuss.elastic.co/t/visulaization-error/136201/6):

> If you want to upgrade Kibana you also have to upgrade Elasticsearch. How did you install Metricbeat? What does the Metricbeat logs say?

and here:

> [@Saved Visualization Service: Visualization type of "metrics" is invalid. Please change to a valid type](https://discuss.elastic.co/t/saved-visualization-service-visualization-type-of-metrics-is-invalid-please-change-to-a-valid-type/135656/2):

> Hi Stephan. That DO tutorial is using a pretty old version of our stack. It looks like it's out of date. It sounds like you're trying to create visualizations that exist in a more recent version of Kibana. You might want to try following our official getting started documents, which can be found here: [https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/kibana/current/getting-started.html](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/kibana/current/getting-started.html) Good luck!

In both cases, question was the same - how do I fix this.
Currently I have run into exactly same issue, and I'd like to fix this. I don't want to upgrade ES/Kibana stack. I just want to get this fixed, so I can start using my old visualisations and dashboards. I don't mind whether the one which caused this doesn't work, I am more interested in getting my service up and running again.

Thank you

Which versions of the components are you using? Have you looked ate the [support matrix](https://www.elastic.co/support/matrix) to see which versions are compatible?

This is not a fix, and I'm looking for a fix. I am not looking to get this version working I want other things to start working.
