# Udp output fails with big json msg

i am using the udp output plugin to send json messages recieved from http and rabbitmq input.

logstash version 5.5.1  
everything works fine for small messages.  
when i hit the 32k json size - logstash crashes (the logstash agent) with the following error:  
SocketError: send: name or service not known

i have found some old posts like this:
