# Unable to connect to Hadoop from ES

Hi,
I am trying to use the hadoop gateway in Elasticsearch, but failing due to
the following error.

Solomon] loaded [hadoop, mapper-attachments], sites []

Initialization Failed ...
1. IOException[Call to /10.129.182.118:9000 failed on local exception:
java.io.EOFException]

I have verified the hdfs uri, and hadoop jar versions etc. Everything seems
to be correct, Can anyone throw some light on this issue.
