# Unable to make follower index as regular index in elasticsearch CCR setup

Hi I'm unable to stop replication with pause or unfollow on the follower index it gives me error.  
i tried doing  
POST /testing-copy/\_ccr/pause\_follow and then  
POST /testing-copy/\_ccr/unfollow  
"cannot convert the follower index [testing-copy] to a non-follower, because it has not been closed"  
@elasticsearch
