# Unable to reset snapshot status

ECE admin console allows me to assign a repository to a cluster but the cluster will stuck in an unhealthy state if I remove that snapshot repository from cluster. The error is 'Cluster health issue: Snapshots are disabled'.

Is there a way to reset this state back to normal?

Have you tried deleting the snapshot repository with the appropriate call to the Elasticsearch API?

The root case was that some underlying GCP servers were not rebooted to pickup newly assigned GCS APi permission to access snapshot storage. It will be nicer if the admin console displays more informative error message.
