# Unable to restart kibana

hi,

i successfully installed kibana (5.6.3), and then had to restart it.  
i am getting the following error:

i tried:

1. refresh ES with \_refresh
2. delete .kibana index
3. delete the docuemnt with curl XDELETE .kibana/5.6.3  
no matter what i try - i keep getting this error.  
how can i bring back the service??

Hi,

if the data is not important, you can rename data folder of ES and then try to restart both ES and Kibana. This will work with green Status.
