# Unable to Select New Index in Dashboard from DropDown

Hi there, I recently updated my Python script and pushed to a new index, `wxo_Everything` and I can see the index in the `index management` section of Kibana, but when I go to make a new dashboard and change the index, I do not see `wxo_Everything` as an option in the dropdown.

Can someone please help me figure out why, this is urgent work and I've been wracking my brains over it.

Thanks for reaching out, @vdashora. Are you referring to changing the data view? Have you tried manually changing the index pattern so it looks like: `wxo_Everything*`

I'm sorry where do I go and change the index pattern so it looks like: wxo\_Everything\*?

Can you please point me towards the location and what steps I need to do?

Thanks for following up, @vdashora. Our document on [creating a data view](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/kibana/current/data-views.html) may be helpful here. I've also found [this guide](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/kibana/current/create-a-dashboard-of-panels-with-web-server-data.html) helpful in the past. I also [wrote a tutorial](https://www.elastic.co/search-labs/blog/analyzing-data-using-python-elasticsearch-and-kibana) on a similar subject too.
