# "upgrade Assistant" is not visible under "management tab"

Hey,

I'm new to elasticsearch, I have installed elasticsearch 8.5.2 in single node and configured Kibana.  
Now I'm trying to upgrade to 8.6.1 through upgrade assistant as elastic user but cant find the upgrade assistant option under management tab nor anywhere else though the elastic user has cluster privilege "all"  
Any leads or help would be appreciated, thanks.

There is no Upgrade Assistant on version 8.X, the Upgrade Assistant only exists between major versions, from 6 to 7, from 7 to 8 etc.

Since there is not a version 9.X yet, there is no upgrade assistant available.

Between minor versions like 8.X to 8.Y you need to follow the [documentation](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elastic-stack/8.6/upgrading-elastic-stack.html#prepare-to-upgrade-8x) on how to do a rolling upgrade.
