# Upgrade Elastic 7.9 from helm 2 to helm 3 in 1.16

Is there a recommended way to migrate from helm2 to helm3 for Elastic helm charts.  
Since helm2 and helm3 are quite different how to retain the Elasticsearch/Kibana indexes etc.. when I upgrade to an entirely new chart
