# Upgrade Elastic Cloud 7.8.0 - 7.17.3

good day to all

I have some doubts about updating the version of elastic cloud (Elasticsearch, kibana) from version 7.8.0 to 7.17.3, I would like to know if there are no problems with this extensive update to move from the old version to a current one, as it currently has important information in the tenant of my elastic cloud, the information will not be lost if I update it? and besides that the configuration will remain in the machine learning jobs?

You won't lose data, no.  
Elastic Cloud also takes automatic backups that you can use to restore in case of a problem.
