# Upgrading error from 6.8 to 7.13

Hi! I have a RedHat8 machine with Elasticsearch 5.6 installed and I want to upgrade to 7.x.

I've been able to upgrade to 6.8 following the guide but somehow, I am getting an error when trying to start the Elasticsearch service after upgrading to 7.13. Elasticsearch 5.6 is [EOL](https://www.elastic.co/support/eol) and no longer supported. Please upgrade ASAP.
