# URGENT: Handshake failed. unexpected remote node

Version: 8.5.0

The cluster has 3 nodes:

node-001 (master)  
node-002 (data)  
node-003 (data)

The master node VM crashed and upon restarting the master node, the data nodes are not getting discovered. The cluster was running fine before

getting below error:
