# URL in Markdown widget

In Markdown widget we want to provide URL. Something similar to Navigation widget in [http://demo.elastic.co/packetbeat](http://demo.elastic.co/packetbeat)  
We provide URL link below  
Web transactions

We want to open URL in new Tab instead of opening in same tab. Can you please help with syntax?

Hmm, I don't think this is possible. In general, I think use of something like `target="_blank"` is discouraged because users should be able to make the decision to open links in a separate tab if they wish simply by control-clicking or right-clicking and selecting "open in new tab".

In any case, the following enhancement request would make it possible to accomplish what you'd like, so feel free to add your feedback here:
