# Using Controls in Dashboards

Hi,
Imaging that i have a dashboard with a couple of visualizations.
The first x visualizations are "global" then i would like to add a control visualization to affect only a few following visualizations, is that possible? or a control will affect every visualizations in a dashboard?

The control will affect all visualizations. Although, there is a workaround. If the "global" visualizations are using a different index that doesn't have the fields that the input control filters on, then they won't be affected.
