# Using hours as range in Kibana

Hello, I am building a dashboard, and the metric I am using as the color change range has time format. How can I express this within the range settings, so that it assumes the colors according to the parameters of time? At first I tried converting it to decimal to insert but it does not understand the graph. and also does not accept HH: mm which is the date format I own.

Hey @lmonteiro,
thanks for your request, can I ask you yo be a bit more specific on your use case: I'm not sure I understand exactly what visualization are you trying to build.
Can you provide me an example or what are you looking to achieve?
