# Using queries to specify threshold while creating visualisation

While creating any one of the visualization for instance (Traffic plugin) we mention threshold at the time of creating the [visualization.Is](http://visualization.Is) there any way that can be used to pass threshold values based on queries.

hi @Pratheek,

can you elaborate a little bit more on what exactly you're trying to achieve?

Also, if this is a question specifically about how to that use 3rd party plugin, I would ask the question there instead.

The goal is to retrieve the threshold value for plugins from an already existing index in elasticsearch by querying it
