Hi,

Trying to use the **World Countries** map from the **EMS Boundaries** with **Vega** like it's shown in the documentation [here](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/kibana/current/vega.html#vega-esmfiles).

The (very simple) code is the following under **Kibana 7.16.3** :

```auto
{
  $schema: https://vega.github.io/schema/vega/v5.json
  config: {
    kibana: {type: "map"}
  }
  data: [
    {
      name: world_countries
      url: {
        %type%: emsfile
        name: World Countries
      }
      format: {property: "features"}
    }
  ]
}
```

I'm getting this message:

> Data ingestion failed
> {
> "url": "[https://vector.maps.elastic.co/files/world\_countries\_v7.topo.json?elastic\_tile\_service\_tos=agree&my\_app\_name=kibana&my\_app\_version=7.16.3&license=sspl](https://vector.maps.elastic.co/files/world_countries_v7.topo.json?elastic_tile_service_tos=agree&my_app_name=kibana&my_app_version=7.16.3&license=sspl)"
> }

Works with other maps (_France Departments_, _Albania Counties_ or _Andorra Parishes_ for example).

Anyone has an idea what the problem might be or how to find it's source?

Thanks.

Regards.

Thanks for reporting. I have opened an issue [[maps][vega] Unable to use topojson EMS boundary layers · Issue #130461 · elastic/kibana · GitHub](https://github.com/elastic/kibana/issues/130461) to track the problem.

Thanks.

Used the corrected syntax mentioned [here](https://github.com/elastic/kibana/issues/130461#issuecomment-1101694622) and it works.

Regards.
