# Watcher & logging

Hi there,
we have the possibility to define watches in Kibana. One action is logging.
My question: Where / in which log does this log event get written to?

The [logging action](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/actions-logging.html) logs in the standard Elasticsearch logs. This action is primarily used during development and for debugging purposes.
