# Watcher syskeygen for basic authentication

hi
I need Watcher to run Elasticsearch API, pass the request.auth.basic.username and request.auth.basic.password. Reading this url _[https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/x-pack/current/encrypting-data.html](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/x-pack/current/encrypting-data.html)_ , we can secure the HTTP basic authentication information.
However, no details documentation on how to perform this?
any help is much appreciated. thanks.

Can you be more specific what is missing? When you are configuring everything as outlined in the docs, then you can see that the data in the watch (like the password) is no more stored in cleartext.
One imporant thing: You should wait until 6.3 is released in order to use this feature, as an important bug was fixed in there.
