# Watches dont execute

When I start Elasticsearch I get the message:
```
Commercial plugins operate with reduced functionality on license expiration:
# - watcher
# - PUT / GET watch APIs are disabled, DELETE watch API continues to work
# - Watches execute and write to the history
# - The actions of the watches don't execute
```
Why won't my actions execute? Do I need to pay?

Hey,
please read the lines above this paragraph carefully, this shows if your license is expired or when it will expire.
Watcher is a commercial addon to Elasticsearch, but it comes with a trial one month license. You can read more about it [at the bottom of the download page](https://www.elastic.co/downloads/watcher).
