# We are facing issue while installation elastic open source APM

HI Team

we have installed newer version of Elasticsearch using login functionalities , elastic and kibana is working but while using APM, faced lot of challenge.

can anyone help for this.

Welcome to the community.

What version was installed? What is the error message?

The [easiest way](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/apm/guide/current/apm-quick-start.html) to get started with Elastic APM is by using our hosted Elasticsearch Service on Elastic Cloud but I assume you chose to self-manage the Elastic Stack.

So, here is the [step by step](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/apm/guide/current/installing.html) to install, configure, and run APM Server.
