# What are the ways to know when a new document created?

Hi All,

What are the ways elasticsearch provides, so I know when a new document is created, in an index and of a type ?  
And is the best one or most adapter one, out of those ?

ES does not provide any functionality around this, even Shield doesn't yet provide this level of auditing (but should in the future). You would need to build something.
