# What index tracks index & search rate in the monitoring section of kibana?

I'm trying to track down where the metrics are kept that back the monitoring section of the cluster in Kibana. I'm interested in showing these statistics from the CLI in addition to being able to see them in Kibana.

They are stored in `.monitoring` named indices, with timestamps attached to the end.
