# What is Delastic.apm.application\_packages=

Hi, I want to monitor a Tomcat Application but how property `Delastic.apm.application_packages=org.example,org.another.example` works in APM configuration, it's mandatory? Can I set it to default?

Please rely on our [documentation](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/apm/agent/java/current/config-stacktrace.html#config-application-packages) for any such info, it is pretty comprehensive.
