# What is the best way to monitor the health of the elk ecosystem?

Hi,

We are attempting to spin-up ELK for Netflow data, but running into performance issues. What is the best way to monitor the health of the entire ecosystem, assuming that we don't want to purchase X-Pack?

You don't need to purchase X-Pack to have access to X-Pack Monitoring. The Basic license of X-Pack gives X-Pack Monitoring for free.
