# What is the different between Elasticsearch Platinum license

Hi,
We have Elasticsearch Platinum license and it has two types of licenses such as Production and Non-production, so what is the difference between these two, and what are the limitations between them?

Hi,
When you buy a license, based on your use case, Elastic provide both Prod and Non-Prod licenses which can be applied to your Production and Dev clusters respectively.
Your account or support representative is probably the best to speak to about this on how the license has been procured.
But, both are just same, nothing differs. Only that the Prod licenses are to be applied for your Prod clusters and Non-Prod licenses to your Dev.
