# What is the significance of add\_tags in mutate

Hi All

I want to understand the significance of add\_tags in mutate filter

Does it mean a description field has multiple keywords and we add tags to that

For example : Description : This is **really** a **good**  **example**

So we can tag **really, good and example** as different value for this new field?

I don't really understand the question, but the `add_tag` option simply adds one or more strings to the `tags` field, which is an array of strings. It's as simple as that.
