# What's the difference between s3 input in filebeat and s3 input in logstash

Hi There,

We try to ingest data from s3 to Elasticsearch, and I know filebeat and logstash all support S3 input.  
Which one should I use, is there has any guidence, in which situation to use filebeat or logstash.

If you are a heavy AWS shop perhaps look at the [elastic-serverless-forwarder](https://github.com/elastic/elastic-serverless-forwarder/blob/main/docs/README-AWS.md)

My second choice would be Filebeat and scale horizontally and I think the input is a little more flexible supporting SQS natively

3rd Choice would be Logstash... if you want SQS support it is a "Contributor" supported plugin in...

Others might have a different preference.

Also depends on what you are running today...
