# Whats the status of Elasticsearch and G1GC?

We are seeing hourly GC pauses on our cluster (seems to be on old). Looking at the old Java tickets it seems the issue has been addressed tho the warning on the Lucene page about G1GC and Lucene still remains. Comments here and on Solr forms are mixed. Has ES team taken a stance on G1GC and ES (We are running 5 latest).

At this time we still do not support G1GC.
