# When filtering values in kibana the wrong values get shown

I want to filter with a control element in a kibana dashboard.  
But in the dropdown, the wrong values get displayed.  
The three different values available are 7,8 and 9:

But in the control element drop-down the values are 1, 8 and 9.

filtering for 8 and 9 works, but filtering for 1 obviously doesn't work because its not in the data.

Can anybody tell me what is going wrong here?
