# Where I set the variable ELASTIC\_CLIENT\_APIVERSIONING?

At the elastic [documentation](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/client/net-api/7.17/connecting-to-elasticsearch-v8.html) I read, that I should set the variable **ELASTIC\_CLIENT\_APIVERSIONING** on true. But where I should set the variable? At my device / Windows 11 as environment variable? Or in which configuration file?  
On a [other documentation](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/client/curator/current/configfile.html) I read about a curator.yml, but this file does not exist in my installation (elastic + kibana).
