# Where patterns are stored

Hello 'm really new to elasticsearch and i've been looking for the patterns but i cannot find them  
because i want to test some filters for cisco routers

and second y kibana i'm only seeing counts and the pattern that i put was \*  
is that the reason i'm seeing those counts in the dashboards?
