# Where to check indices.store.throttle.max\_bytes\_per\_sec when it is statically set

I have updated indices.store.throttle.max\_bytes\_per\_sec value in the yml file but I am unable to see the value when I make a GET call to the path /\_cluster/settings.

```
{
  "persistent" : { },
  "transient" : { }
}

```

However, when I do a PUT call followed by the GET call, I am able to see the value. Is there some way of checking the value when it is set from the yml?

we treat the on-disk settings as defaults so try `GET /_cluster/settings?include_defaults=true`
