# Whet is "use time filter" function in Kibana?

Hello, I'm caleb.  
What is "kibana control" function in visualize?

kibana -\> visualize -\> control -\> options tab -\> use time filter

When activated, the expected items appear.  
The description of the function is not shown in the manual.

This option tells the control whether or not to take the global time filter (in the top right hand corner of each app) into account when generating suggested options.
