# Why are multiple events created for \`network \` in system module

Despite giving period as `1m` , i was able to see about 8 events created for the same timestamp  
for the metricset containing `network`

Can you give an example of the repeated metrics? The `network` metricset will report metrics on a per-network interface basis (or select interfaces, depending on how you configure it), so those 8 or so events are probably for all the interfaces it can see on the host system.
