# Why does the ingest-attachment plugin not retrieve dates?

The ingest attachment plugin, with default 'properties' handling (i.e., get all properties), should retrieve a bunch of metadata, but for some files like image formats I've been testing it doesn't return dates, or anything really apart from Content-Type. It's really not very useful at all.
I've seen the github issue around this, but don't understand the current state of play. Has anything been implemented? For which version?

It has not been merged.
Note that some libraries are not packaged with the plugin because not Apache2 license compatible. If you have jpeg files that might explain. In which case you could try to add the libs manually in the plugin dir.
