# 'x-pack' in documentation for 7.0 and ILM

Hi,

It is a little detail, but the on-line documentation for 7.0 still refers to the newly named "stack features" as "X-Pack", at least for the elasticsearch 7.0 part of the documentation.

I remember configuring lifecycle policies for in kibana for non-payed 6.6 versions. The fact that the "X-Pack" image is there, does this means that this is a stack feature for version 7 now?

There are a [number of different licence levels for X-pack features](https://www.elastic.co/subscriptions), and index lifecycle management is included in the basic (no-cost) licence level.

You will note that the [docs for index lifecycle management in 6.6](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/6.6/index-lifecycle-management.html) also includes the "X-pack" logo.
