# X-Pack Security - PKI authentication

Is it possible to disable basic authentication and enable only PKI authentication in Elastic Search 5.2.0.

Can you share working sample role.yml ,elastisearch.yml and role\_mapping.yml for PKI authentication..

@Balaji.pudur yup, you can do that. I'd recommend looking through the docs, starting here: [https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/x-pack/current/security-getting-started.html](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/x-pack/current/security-getting-started.html) the configuration really depends on your environment.
