What kind of encryption methodology does Xpack use to encrypt data? Also, is the present version of ELK stack provide Xpack for free?

Security has been [free since 7.1](https://www.elastic.co/blog/security-for-elasticsearch-is-now-free).

When you talk about encryption, are you talking about data in motion or at rest.
