# Yarn es snapshot --license trial Elasticsearch8.5 snapshot for starting Kibana as a developer

To create a custom plugin,  
not as root

1. I cloned the kibana git hub repo
2. yarn kbn bootstrap ----\> was successful

The next step as per the documentation, ([Getting started | Kibana Guide [master] | Elastic](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/kibana/master/development-getting-started.html))

1. yarn es snapshot --license trial ---- \> error
