Format Posts for Clarity and Searchability

:white_check_mark: Write clear titles: Use a concise title that summarizes your problem or question clearly.
:white_check_mark: Choose the right category: Select the relevant category and include common keywords so others can easily find and learn from your topic.
:white_check_mark: Format code and logs properly: Always format code, JSON, settings, and error logs using code blocks (```) or the </> icon in the editor.
:cross_mark: Do not post images of code or logs: Screenshots of text are difficult to read, impossible to copy/paste, and cannot be indexed by search engines. Always paste raw text formatted as code.

Human-Verified AI Policy

While AI assistance (e.g., LLMs, ChatGPT, Copilot) is permitted to help draft responses, you are fully responsible for the accuracy of what you post.

:white_check_mark: Mandatory human validation: All AI-generated answers, explanations, or code snippets must be thoroughly reviewed, tested, and validated by a human before posting.
:triangular_flag: Flag potential hallucinations: If you notice an AI-generated answer with fake APIs, nonexistent settings, or untruthful content, please flag it for moderator review.
:cross_mark: No hallucinations: Ensure that suggested code, API endpoints, configuration settings, and parameters actually exist and are applicable to Elastic products. Untested or hallucinated AI responses waste community time and will be removed.

Keep It Tidy and Avoid Noise

:white_check_mark: Search before posting: Check if your question has already been answered in existing topics before starting a new conversation.
:white_check_mark: Use built-in interactions: Use the Like heart button instead of posting short "+1" or "Agreed" replies.
:white_check_mark: Stay on topic: Avoid changing the subject mid-thread. If you have a different question, start a new topic using Reply as a Linked Topic.
:cross_mark: Avoid signatures: Do not sign your posts; your profile information is already attached to every message.

Be Respectful, Safe, and Lawful

:white_check_mark: Treat others with respect: Criticize ideas, not people. Avoid personal attacks, name-calling, and aggressive tone.
:white_check_mark: Protect sensitive data: Never post credentials, private API keys, passwords, or personal identifiable information (PII) in logs or code snippets.
:white_check_mark: Post your own content: Only share material you have the right to post. Do not share copyrighted code, media, or proprietary data without permission.
:cross_mark: Flag, don't engage: If you see inappropriate behavior, spam, or abusive posts, flag them for moderators rather than replying.
