Beats packaging for EL

Hello,

Would it be possible to split beats packaging for EL (Amazon Linux, CentOS, RHEL, etc...) per major version ?
The single package currently provided embeds both init.d (EL6) and systemd (EL7) daemon management scripts. On EL7, this can lead to confusion as init.d and systemd will not behave the same.
On EL6, this ships unused files (systemd).

I'm wondering, does this cause any issue apart from a possible confusion from the administrator?
