Hi!

Let's say i have a cluster with 2 nodes and for different reasons both of them are down. What happened with the data that is collecting with metricbeat? Is stored somewhere else, somewhere local? Or it's not going to collect data until the servers are up and running?

That's not the best, have a read of Important Configuration Changes | Elasticsearch: The Definitive Guide [2.x] | Elastic and then consider adding another node.

It'll collect data and then cache it locally until it can reconnect to Elasticsearch/
