Date filter cause docker logstash to crash

Hi,

Adding the date filter causes Logstash to crash.
I'm using the premade Logstash docker image, docker.elastic.co/logstash/logstash:7.5.2, I have managed to get the grok filter to work just fine, but when I try to add the date filter for the sake of updating the @timestamp field the container just crashes.

Config code:

    grok
	{
		break_on_match => false
		match => { "message" => "%{TIMESTAMP_ISO8601:timestamp_string},%{INT:log_line} - %{WORD:privilage_level} - %{WORD:log_level} - %{GREEDYDATA:message_string}"}
		match => { "message" => "%{GREEDYDATA:original}"}
		add_tag => ["pl_agent_log"]
	}

date
	{

	}

    output {
        stdout{}
    }

And here is the output that concerns the error:

Also an additional minor question, I'm trying to follow the Elastic Common Scheme, which has field names like, log.level, but I seem to be unable to assign a field name with a punctuation, ".", in it. Any attempts of naming it log.level results in

  "log": {
    "level": "VALUE"
  }
