Heartbeat HTTP method OPTIONS

Hi,
in the documentation of Heartbeat 8.3.2 the listed methods available are: "HEAD", "GET" and "POST". For my use case, I require the "OPTIONS" method, as GET generates an unwanted null message in our system.
Is there a way to achieve this in current Heartbeat or do I need to create a post on github?

I've opened an issue here for that: [Heartbeat] Support OPTIONS for lightweight cehcks · Issue #32457 · elastic/beats · GitHub , but I will be honest, this is the first time we've gotten this request in years. It probably will not be prioritized any time soon, but we'd welcome a PR here, it shouldn't be a ton of work.
